Paddling and Exercise Programs at Banook Canoe Club

Banook Canoe Club offers a variety of paddling and exercise programs for members of all ages and skill levels. Our programs are designed to promote skill development, physical activity, and fun!

Day1-398

Kiddie Canoe (Summer Only)

Ages 4-8

  • Introduce your child to paddling and water safety
  • Free program for Banook members
  • Sessions held Monday to Friday, one hour per day
Kiddie Canoe

Summer Weekly Activity Camp

Ages 5-12

  • A fun and engaging camp experience
  • Activities include games, crafts, swimming, and paddling
  • Daily from 8:30am-4:30pm, with optional extended supervision

Summer Paddling Program

Ages 8 and up

  • Develop paddling skills and teamwork
  • Groups divided by age and skill level
  • Limited to 75 participants per age group

High Performance Program

Ages U15 and up

  • For experienced paddlers committed to competitive training
  • Year-round program with experienced coaches
  • Evaluation by Head Coach required for admission

Recreational Junior/Senior

Ages 19-25

  • A self-tailored paddling program for experienced athletes
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate young adult life demands

Dragon Boat

Ages 19 and up

Banook Canoe Club will run the Dragon Boat program:

  • July 1st until September 30th
  • Wednesdays: 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
  • Sundays: 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
  • All levels of experience welcome

Registration Fees

  • BCC Members: $100.00 + HST
  • Non-members: $225.00 + HST

Adult Learn to Paddle

Membership is NOT required for this Adult Learn to Paddle program designed for those adults with no sprint paddling experience- or very minimal and not comfortable yet in a boat.

Banook Crews - C15s & 4s

Ages U16-U18 and adult

  • Focus on crew boats, including C15, C4s, and K4s
  • Opportunities to race in regattas

Off-Season Paddling

Fall, Winter, and Spring Training

Ages U10-U16 and High Performance

  • Coach-supervised training sessions, 3-10+ hours per week
  • Registration opens in late August for fall and late March for spring
